Some more from the Bon Scott Exhibition

Phew. There’s a bit of data-processing to get through now that the exhibition is open to the public. To keep you entertained in the meantime, here are a few more things from the show!

Scott Redford
Wallpaper installation by Scott Redford, “A piece of the World” 2008

Scott Redford made this great wallpaper from a photo by Philip Morris. It fills two walls of this sexy room that also contains Cecilia Fogelberg’s great little statue of Bon singin’ with his cock:

…and as an antidote, Nat Paton’s self-portrait as Rosie:

…and a few more of the works downstairs in the main gallery, which don’t directly represent Bon in them:

ryan razzari
Artwork by Ryan Nazzari, “Instructions for Lost Boys” 2008 (there are more paintings in this series, I’ll put em up soon… as well as artists statements and so on so you get more of an idea about what the artists were thinking!)

More soon… There are a few videos and animations, and some great shots of Richard Lewer’s wall drawing (just don’t bloody call it a mural!!) in progress…

  1. Hi Lucas,

Everything is so super on the Bonny Blog, you’ve done a fantastic job! I’m totally hooked – must check it often. Keep the excellent stuff coming and you’ll have a book before you know it. (sorry, my profession is showing – librarian) By the way, Cecelia’s sculpture is a scream, but somehow I doubt he was soft…… Couldn’t resist!

Now, for Pandora, she’s a curious chick and may not know when to curtail her activities…. have you seen this?

I fear we may have Bonny Scotts popping out of the woodwork.

    Susan from Alabama

  2. AT A GUESS… GRAEME IS TALKING ABOUT ME AND MY STORY ABOUT BEING BON SON….

WHEN YOU READ HIS STATEMENT WHERE HE SAYS DAVIDS STORY IS FAR MORE CREDIBLE THAN THE PREVIOUS “LOVECHILDS” STORY… YOU REALISE HE HAS SOME FORM OF INSIDE INFORMATION ON THE SUBJECT AS IN THE TOPIC AVAILABLE IT MAKES NO MENTION OF “DAVIDS STORY”??????????

    AND MY REPLY???
ATLEAST BONS OLD FRIENDS HAVE COME FORWARD AND PUBLICLY STATED MY LEGITIMACY…
AND NOT PEOPLE I KNOW WHO ARE JUST DOING ME FAVOURS…

FOR ME… THAT IS THE BEST FORM OF EVIDENCE I COULD GET…

  3. BEN! Think of it this way, perhaps you have a half brother.(Maybe Dave doesn’t want to be quite as up front as you.)

There may be more half siblings. This is good. Knowing what we do of dear Bon, it’s not like there could only be one. Sure there will be people speculating – its human nature. Relax. Enjoy. You may have a huge family to get to know. Unless the others in Bon’s family come forth with DNA to test, others who aren’t as sure as you, may never know.

  4. OR PERHAPS HE IS NOT!!! AND IS MISTAKEN ABOUT BEING BONS SON???
THIS IS WHERE IT WOULD BE GREAT TO BE ABLE TO USE THE DNA HELD IN LONDON FROM BONS AUTOPSY… TO CONFIRM…

FROM MY INVESTIGATIONS… DAVID IS NOT BONS…

  5. hola ben scott gracias por el dato yo lo lei en el libro de susan y da como david y paul como hijos del hermano de bon un abrazo desde argentina gracias

  6. That’s Nat Paton, an artist from Queensland, channeling the spirit of Rosie. The “original” Rosie supposedly lives in Tasmania, but I don’t think she’s been heard of for years…

  7. I’m just a wannabe I’m afraid Graham. I doubt she actually looked like that, but in an art show, you can expect a few artist representations hey? 😉

The last time I saw AC/DC live, while walking through the car park, dudes in Monaros were hanging out of their cars calling out to me as Rosie…..Doesn’t bother me in the slightest, I’ve got it all too!

If you find the real Rosie, I’d love to see a pic of her!!!

  8. Nat, in addition to Rosie’s attributes that we know from the song, Bon said in an interview that she was over 6 ft. tall and had curly red hair and freckles.

  9. Thanx Carolyn! Bon’s tales of Rosie just get wilder and wilder. Love it!!! Wouldn’t they have looked a pair! Sort of mimics the juxtaposition of the works in the room at the gallery don’t you think?

  10. Great comparison, Nat!

Every time I play “Whole Lotta Rosie” (it’s my all-time favorite AC/DC song) I can’t help but get a mental picture of Bon and Rosie together, which makes the song that much better knowing that it really happened!

  11. I totally agree Carolyn, it does make Whole Lotta Rosie super special because we know it really happened. It’s one of my favorites, too. I’ve tried to picture what they’d look like standing side by side, and get the giggles every time! For the rest, I have no words!

Nat! Your take on Rosie is just PERFECT!

  12. Gotta agree with Susann there, I now cannot listen to Whole Lotta Rosie without seeing that picture. She’s almost exactly how I imagined her: a bit rough and a lot sexy. Nice work Nat.

  13. Can you imagine the smile on Bon’s face? Wish there was a snapshot of that!

Wonder if Rosie knows about the long overdue celebrations of Bon that have been going on? I suppose she prefers to remain a private citizen, and I can understand that.

  14. He must have been grinning ear to ear! And I bet Bon had a way of making every woman he was with feel like she was the only one for him!

  15. I’m trying to get in contact with Nat Paton. She spoke at the agIdeas conference in 2003 and was wondering how I can contact her to provide her with an invitation.

  16. Everyone on here needs to know that this guy Ben Scott is a fruit cake! He’s on like every Bon Scott fan page. His rantings are borderline psychotic! I know friends of Bons and speak to them regularly and each one of them has said that this guy is a fraud! He wants attention and wants to be attach himself to Bon Scott because he can’t make a name for himself! Think about it! Would Bons real sin go around on forums screaming “I’m Bon Scott’s Son! An everyone else isn’t!! He’s a loser and you guys need to see through his babbling.

  17. yes, mike – I think that anyone who follows ben’s social media profiles would be able to come to their own conclusions, as you have!

For the purposes of the Bon Scott Blog, however, which explores Bon as a “cultural phenomenon”, Ben is a legitimate presence, although I myself moderate all comments to stop anything that might come across as abusive or psychotic.

One of the truths of being such an icon, as Bon is/was, is that due to all the media attention that you attract, you also attract all sorts of people who want to attach themselves to you, in order to get a bit of that attention for themselves.

Ben is one of those people – his existence as a “lovechild-claimant” is a reality, whether you think his story is the truth or not. I think it’s important not to mix up the fact that he is annoying with the fact that we don’t have any actual evidence either way.
